Exciting novelties and solutions at IPM 2017

Each year Syngenta FloriPro Services® (FPS) exhibits a selection of bedding plants and pot plants at the IPM in Essen, Germany. For 2017 it is preparing a truly memorable experience for visitors to its stand; based on the theme “Providing solutions. Growing together.” More than just a slogan, this ethos emphasizes the company’s approach to creating value for the whole ornamentals supply chain, by acting as an End-to-End solutions partner. Each part of the FPS stand represents a different part of the supply chain, demonstrating how FPS provides their customers with the best solutions for their individual business. Starting with growing solutions, such as the new easy-to-produce Mini-Cyclamen SeeWhy®, through to retail solutions and campaign concepts such as EVERYDAYWONDER and MultiColours.

FPS will present the new ground-breaking Mini-Cyclamen series SeeWhy® at IPM Essen 2017. The promise of worry-free production, together with more efficient planning and production, gives growers the potential to save time, money and effort. In addition, the simultaneous combination of uniformity, compatibility and earliness makes the SeeWhy® series the perfect match for any demand.

Among many other novelties, one outstanding introduction to be featured at IPM 2017 is FPS’s very special new colour in its Endurio® series of Viola cornuta, which are well known for their flat-landscaping habit and for their vigorous growth. The Rocky, Deltini and Delta®series will also be presented, providing an overview of their Viola offering.

Another highlight on the stand will be an assortment of novelty Poinsettia, which will be part of a display of most of the company’s complete Poinsettia assortment. This will highlight new introductions, such as Aria Red, Magma Red and Majoris Red, as well as Venus Hot Pink. Magma Red has a compact and V-shaped growth habit together with a great bright red colour. It has an extremely robust root system, making it a very strong variety. In terms of production it requires little use of PGR, is easy to sleeve, and has strong cyathia coupled with a superb shelf life.

Syngenta FloriPro Services® is known for its outstanding novelties, and key plants from their Annual Cuttings collection will also be presented. These include: Novel Verbena Hybrida Lanai®which has large attractive flowers, earning it several awards as best Verbena series; novelties from the Magelana series, which are suitable for mass market production and which are easy to grow and provide reliable early flowering. Other exciting new products which on display will include Sutera Cabana, Petunia Sanguna, Calibrachoa Callie® and Lobelia erinus Techno Up.

With so many eye catching plants, it will be hard for visitors to pick a single favourite, but the series of Saxifraga Alpino, including the variety Carneval are another stand out product. Alpinos are the earliest series on the market, are also extremely prolific in flowering and have a very attractive plant habit.

Other new editions which will be presented during IPM 2017 include the Primula range, with two completely new series for the late flowering segment introduced during IPM. One is Mitra Late and the other Paradiso Late. The Mitra series with its very uniform compact growth is ideal for high density production, while there are also new varieties coming forward in the Sirococco series.
